About Bikram Yoga Louise

What is Bikram Yoga?

Bikram Yoga is a dynamic sequence of 26 poses (Asanas) and two breathing exercises (Pranayamas) that are suitable for people of all ages, regardless of their physical condition.

All exercise takes place in a room heated to 40° and lasts for 90 minutes. Because the room is heated, Bikram Yoga allows for a greater stretching of the body, as well as a rapid, effective and deep detoxification of the body – which helps to reduce muscular injuries. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints, and is designed to prepare the body for the next pose.

By circulating blood around the body, each organ is stimulated and “deep-cleansed”, resulting in an overall improvement in wellbeing and a general rebalancing of the whole body and all of its systems: immune, nervous, hormonal, digestive, cardio-vascular and respiratory.

Regularly practising Bikram Yoga allows you to keep the body in excellent shape. It can improve posture and the alignment of the spine; it can help to relieve back pain; it can boost stamina, flexibility, strength and also helps to improve concentration levels.

Stress? Back pain? Weight loss?

The majority of Bikram Yoga enthusiasts are looking for an all-round, complete physical activity, which will allow them to stay in good shape and get rid of the stresses of everyday life.

The benefits of regular yoga practice in a warm environment are numerous, as the heat combined with the yoga allows participants to push their limits, and each of the 26 positions in Bikram Yoga have their own benefits.
